Loyal customers of a Darlington bar and club have chosen to share some of their fond memories from the last 15 years after the venue announced it had closed. 

The Grange Bar revealed on Thursday (August 1) that it had decided to close - leaving customers devastated. 

Known for its friendly atmosphere and historic charm, the bar's closure marks the poignant end of an era.

The community was quick to voice their disbelief and sadness.

In the comments section of The Grange Bar's social media page, there were memories galore shared.

One person, WHO held their wedding reception at the establishment, said: "What a bloody shame. We had our wedding reception at the Grange Bar, it was the best day ever. Perfect venue."

This sentiment was echoed by Ms Watson who described the closure as "a sad day indeed".

The bar bore many roles in the community over the years, serving as a drinking spot and a venue for celebrations.

It has left a lasting impression on locals who fondly remember the time spent there.

Another social media user spoke highly of the owners saying: "Had some very good nights in there."

Others shared tales of camaraderie and friendship formed in the snug venue.

A customer of The Grange Bar, expressed optimism, saying: "I'm sure it will get taken over and re-opened soon. It's a popular venue, and I've enjoyed many a night there. I'm sure it won't be closed for very long."

A former employees remembered their time working at the bar fondly.

They said: "The Grange was always such a fab place to work in, I enjoyed every time I DJ'd in there".

While The Grange Bar's current chapter has ended, the memories it created will endure, according to its regulars.

And as the community mourns the sudden closure of their cherished pub, hope remains that the venue will find a new lease on life.
