A County Durham footballer will tackle the Three Peaks Challenge in August in memory of his son who died hours after birth.
West Auckland Town footballer Lee Hume is raising money for the neo-natal intensive care unit at James Cook Hospital, the unit that treated his premature twin sons.
Lee and his colleagues will take part in the Three Peaks Challenge on August 24 and are asking for people to sponsor their trek.
The club has announced a collection on Saturday to support fundraising efforts ahead of the club's FA Cup tie with Bishop Auckland, with all money going towards helping families in similar situations.
Lee said: "The fundraiser is something so special to myself and my partner, we can’t thank everybody enough for the contributions, going to such an amazing cause".

Lee's partner gave birth to identical twins, Ronnie and Reuben, 15 weeks prematurely after a rare pregnancy condition was discovered.
Sadly, Ronnie passed away shortly after birth while his brother, Reuben remains in care at the unit.
