Pictures: Streatlam Show Ground, Barnard Castle truck show

The sun was shining and engines were roaring at Streatlam Show Ground in Barnard Castle on July 27 and 28 - a two-day monster truck show extravaganza.

Pictures show attendees grinning from ear to ear on carnival rides and speeding around on some of the giant trucks themselves in the arena. 

Paul Evans, from Shildon, operates Carnival Fun Fairs and was the mastermind behind the roaring weekend just a year after he transformed Darlington Rugby Club into a thrilling monster truck extravaganza.

Despite the weather dampening Saturday's show, the sun came out on Sunday and helped create a picture-perfect finish to the weekend.

Paul said: "The community came together, which is fantastic. We really enjoyed doing it and so did everyone else."

However, Paul did sadly confirm that this will be the final monster truck extravaganza organised by his business as he says "it has had its day".
