A pensioner died after suffering 'catastrophic injuries' during a fall down the stairs.
Colin James Chandler, 81, was found on June 28 this year at his home on Crosby Road in Northallerton after falling down the stairs.
An inquest held on Tuesday (July 30) at Teesside Coroner's Court in Middlesbrough heard that Mr Chandler suffered 'catastrophic injuries' during the fall and was taken to James Cook Hospital.
Despite the best efforts of the hospital staff and paramedics sent to the scene at the time, Mr Chandler died on June 29 in hospital from a hematoma.
During the inquest, assistant coroner of Teesside and Hartlepool, Karin Walsh, recorded Mr Chandler's death as an accident.
