How much do you pay for a Mr Whippy ice cream where you are in the North East?

Somewhere in County Durham has officially been declared one of the cheapest places to indulge in a legendary Mr Whippy ice cream.

It comes as a recent user-generated survey revealed the most expensive and cheapest locations in the UK for purchasing a Mr Whippy ice cream.

The survey conducted by LatestDeals.co.uk asked participants to submit the prices of a standard Mr Whippy from their local ice cream vans, excluding the cost of extras like flakes or toppings.

The results highlight significant regional price disparities, with some areas charging a premium for this summer staple.

Glen Park in Plymouth, Devon tops the list with the highest price at £6.

This is closely followed by Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester, where fans are paying £5 for a simple cone.

The Tower of London and Camber Sands share the third spot, both charging £4.50 for a Mr Whippy.

These prices are notably higher than the national average, making them some of the priciest places to enjoy a Mr Whippy ice cream.

Tom Church, co-founder of LatestDeals.co.uk said: “Six pounds for a Mr Whippy is mad.

“It seems to be in tourist hotspots that you’re most likely to get fleeced, rather than local ice cream vans.

“In general, the advice is to avoid the ice cream van in areas with lots of tourists.”
