Police have appealed for information after a man wearing yellow snakeskin boots and holding a small tree branch followed a woman as she rode on her pedal bike. 

Police were alerted to the suspicious incident near the North Shore Academy in Stockton on Wednesday, July 24. 

A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "We’re appealing for information after a suspicious incident where a woman on a pedal bike was followed by a man as she rode around Routledge Road and the fields near North Shore Academy in Stockton.

"It happened at 5pm on Wednesday 24th July and the woman managed to leave the area unharmed.

"Officers attended and carried out an extensive area search however they were unable to locate the man."

He is described as black, 5’6” tall, of very slim build, in his mid to late 30s, and wearing blue jeans, a shirt with a blue hoody over the top, yellow snakeskin boots and he was holding a small tree branch.

The spokesperson added: "We know there were several members of the public in the area at the time and we’d urge them to get in touch as they may have information which can help.

"Anyone else who saw this man in the area or who may know his identity is asked to contact Cleveland Police on the 101 number quoting ref 140267."
