An investigation into a fire in a woodland over the weekend has suggested that the incident was started deliberately.
Emergency services attended a wooded area near Great Ayton at about 7.55pm on Sunday (July 28), following reports that several trees were on fire.
Firefighters from Northallerton attended the scene and extinguished the fire, which measured ten metres by ten metres.

An investigation into the incident took place, with North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service now believing that initial suggestions are that the fire was started deliberately.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "A crew from Northallerton responded to reports of fire approximately measuring 10 by 10 metres in a wooded area. This was believed to have been caused deliberately.
"Crews walked from the appliance wearing wildfire knapsacks full of water and extinguished the fire and used a thermal imaging camera to ensure all heat sources had been extinguished."
