The police are appealing for information after an arson was reported at a property on Springfield Road in Middlesbrough on Saturday afternoon, July 27.

The incident happened between 1:50pm and 2pm at an empty property.

Thankfully, those living in the neighbouring property were not injured in the incident.

Officers believe that four children may have been in the area around the time that the property was deliberately set alight and may have information that could assist their investigation.

Two girls and two boys, believed to be aged 12-15 years old, are described as:

  • Male one – white, wearing a light blue T-shirt, green gloves, grey tracksuit bottoms, black trainers with a white sole.
  • Male two - wearing black tracksuit bottoms with ‘Hoodrich’ printed on the crotch, a long black coat with Canada Zavetti printed near the zip and black trainers.
  • Female one – white, blonde hair tied in a ponytail, wearing a pink T-shirt, black under armour shorts and black trainers.
  • Female two - white, brown hair tied up, wearing black shorts, a black body warmer and black trainers.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of these children, or anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have footage, is asked to contact Middlesbrough CID by calling Cleveland Police on 101, quoting incident reference number 142416.
