A man has been left with a serious head injury after an attack outside a North East nightclub. 

Officers were called to Bath Street, in Redcar, on Sunday (July 28) after a 38-year-old man was punched and knocked unconscious outside The Deck nightclub. 

The man suffered a serious head injury and required hospital treatment - with Cleveland Police confirming he remains in hospital in a “stable” condition.

The suspect is described as a male wearing a black T-shirt and black trousers.

Just prior to this incident, another assault occurred in the same location where a male victim was punched and kicked to the floor.

Officers have not been able to trace this man and are appealing for him, or anyone who may know of his identity, to get in touch.

A full statement from police said: "Police are appealing for information after two assaults reported outside The Deck nightclub on Bath Street in Redcar in the early hours of this morning (Sunday 28th July).

"Around 4am, an assault was reported whereby a 38-year-old man was punched and knocked unconscious. The man suffered a serious head injury requiring hospital treatment. The man remains in hospital in a “stable” condition.

"The suspect is described as a male wearing a black T-shirt and black trousers.

"Just prior to this incident, another assault occurred in the same location whereby a male victim was punched and kicked to the floor.

"Officers have not been able to trace this man and are appealing for him, or anyone who may know of his identity, to get in touch with them as soon as possible.
