Fire crews are continuing to battle a hay bail blaze on a Darlington field.
Emergency services were called to a field in the Low Skeringham Lane area of Barmpton after around 250 bales of hay set on fire on Saturday.
Pictures taken from a distance showed flames pouring from the hay bails in the centre of the field - located between Darlington Golf Course and Skerningham Woods - as smoke rose into the sky.
The County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service confirmed it has been at the scene since 6.53pm on Saturday, and immediately sent fire crews after receiving the initial call.
The service is continuing to monitor the fire as it smoulders.
Eyewitnesses said they could see the fire while on a train coming into Darlington Station on Saturday - with others reporting that at least four fire engines were at the scene.
Details regarding the cause of the blaze have not yet been confirmed.
A spokesperson for County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service (CDDFRS) said: “At 6.53pm on Saturday, we received a report of around 250 bales of hay on fire in a field in the Low Skeringham Lane area of Barmpton.
“We immediately dispatched several crews to the scene and as of Monday (July 29), crews are continuing to monitor the fire as it smoulders.
“No injuries have been reported.”
