A horse rider has suffered serious injuries following a fall this afternoon.
North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) and Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team (CMRT) both attended a report of a person injured in Guisborough shortly after 3pm today (July 26).
NEAS confirmed they deployed one ambulance crew and a clinical team leader to the scene, and took one person to hospital.
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a person injured in Guisborough shortly after 3pm this afternoon (26 July).
"We dispatched one ambulance crew and a clinical team leader and one patient was transported to hospital for further treatment."
CMRT confirmed the rider had suffered “potentially serious injuries” following the fall.
They added they deployed a team Land Rover to the scene.
A spokesperson for CMRT said: “Shortly after 3.30pm on Friday 26 July 2024, Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team received a request from the North East Ambulance Service to assist them with a horse rider who had suffered potentially serious injuries after a fall on land east of Guisborough.
“A Team Land Rover with five people on board was deployed from their Base, whilst other Team members went in their own vehicles.
“Upon arrival, the volunteer rescue team deployed one ‘hasty party’ on foot to meet up with the NEAS crew dealing with the casualty, with the remainder of their personnel following a short while later.

“Once the NEAS personnel had finished assessing and stabilising the casualty, the team lifted her onto a rescue stretcher and secured her within a vacuum mattress.
“After attaching a wheel to the stretcher they wheeled and carried her for approximately 650-metres to a waiting ambulance. They would like to send her their best wishes.
“Eighteen Cleveland MRT members were involved for just over 1.5-hours when stood-down.”
