The filming locations of a Hollywood blockbuster have been revealed after the cast and crew have been spotted in various areas of the region over the last few months. 

Reports started to emerge earlier this year that the team behind 28 Years Later was using Northumberland, the North East and North Yorkshire for the majority of its filming. 

Images of cast and crew in Lindisfarne (the Holy Island), Hexham, and Newcastle came next, with several A-listers, including Jodie Comer, spotted in the North East. 

Already, several places in County Durham, Tyne and Wear, and Northumberland have been involved in the filming of 28 Years Later; a follow-up to the critically acclaimed 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later. 

According to movie site IMDB, the film, directed by Danny Boyle, will be filmed in the North East - but it's not known how long production will take in the region and how long film teams will take.
