A Teesside school has partnered with its local rugby club to make use of facilities to develop young players.

Yarm School in Teesside formed a partnership with Yarm Rugby Club for future use of the school's fields pitches at Aislaby.

This arrangement will benefit the club's youth section by providing them with increased space for training and development.

The partnership will aid the rugby club in promoting the sport among boys and girls in the community and increasing their rugby skills.

Established in 1997, Yarm Rugby Club has grown steadily, boasting both senior men's and women's teams, as well as a flourishing youth setup.

The club, based at Wass Way, will use the additional space from the Aislaby site for further growth, not restricted by space constraints anymore.

The Headmaster at Yarm, Dr Huw Williams, said, "We are delighted to be able to form a community sports partnership with Yarm Rugby Club to provide the space they need to continue to grow boys' and girls' rugby for the whole community.

"At Yarm, we are passionate about building links with the local community, and we are committed to fostering these connections."

Expressing his excitement about the partnership, Yarm Rugby Club Chairman, Dave Jones said, "Our limited space and facilities have been a significant constraint, hindering our ability to serve the local community and impeding our expansion.

"Having additional space at Aislaby will make a huge difference and allow us to engage with more local people.

"The use of Yarm School's playing fields at Aislaby will begin immediately."
