The Red Arrows may not be doing a flypast for the Great North Run this year due to commitments in Canada, but there is still a chance to see them this summer.

In fact, you could see the group of famous red aircraft as soon as today (July 25) in parts of the region.

The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team is scheduled to fly over some areas on their way back from the RAF Leeming Families Display later this evening.

Their performance is set to take place from 2.55pm-3.30pm at the event but when and where can you expect to see them in the North East?

Exact time to see Red Arrows in the North East

If you live in or near Northallerton, you are in luck.

The Red Arrows are due to fly over the east of the town as they leave RAF Leeming to make their way back to their base at RAF Waddington.

Those hoping to spot the Hawk fast-jets in the sky towards the east of Northallerton before they fly north east of Pickering should look up at around 6.02pm, according to the Military Airshows website.

However, it’s important to note timings and the planned route are subject to change due to weather or “other requirements”.

You can see the full Red Arrows flight path for Thursday here.
