It is set to be balmy in Darlington and across the North East today with little chance of showers as the Met Office predicts high temperatures and a "warm" day.

Summer may be finally starting to roll in to Darlington and Durham today (July 24) as forecasters predict high temperatures set to reach 22C.

By the evening, temperatures are set to drop to 17C. 

No rain is forecast - but there is a 20% chance of showers past 11pm this evening.

Following this warm Wednesday, the forecaster has said that cloud will be present on Thursday but will make way for "sunny spells" across the weekend.
