New images have been released showing the progress on the construction of a North East urban park.

Stockton Borough Council have confirmed their Stockton Waterfront project is making progress, with the realignment of Riverside Road “taking shape,” while work on the retaining wall to hold up the new land bridge had begun.

They added that paving works are also continuing on Finkle Street, while the NHS Tees Valley Diagnostic Centre will open later this year.

A SBC spokesperson said: “New images show the progress of the Stockton Waterfront urban park construction.

“The new alignment of Riverside Road is starting to take shape and work on the retaining wall has begun that will hold up the new land bridge.

“Paving works are also continuing on Finkle Street.

“The images also show the amazing progress of the NHS Tees Valley Diagnostic Centre, opening later this year and offering rapid tests, checks and scans to local people North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust.”

Earlier this year, a SBC spokesperson said: “Paving work has begun on Finkle Street, which will show the first visual signs of the Stockton Waterfront urban park in place.

“The initial paving works will take place in front of the buildings on Finkle Street, with access maintained at all times.
