Darlington's Dinosaur Day will return to the town next month filled with roar-some activities for the whole family in town - here are all the details.

Whether you love T-Rexes, diplodocus or velociraptors, dino lovers are invited to make their way to Darlington's Market Square on August 31 for the town's annual Dinosaur Day. 

The free event will be on from 11am-3pm and is operated by Darlington Borough Council.

Activities are set to include a sit-on statue, fuzzy felt activities, outdoor games and colouring for kids of all ages and their families.

Two dino babies will be on the walkabout at 11am, 12pm, 1pm and 2pm around Skinnergate, Grange Road and Duke Street.

A terrifying T-Rex will also be walking about the town at the same time.

Outdoors, you can also take part in a Dinosaur Trail where if you find clues around town, you can be in with a chance of winning a dinosaur-themed goodie hamper.

But, if the Great British weather doesn't hold up, you can head into the Crown Street Library from 11am-3pm and try your hand at the Wild West Dino Discovery and learn all about dinosaur discoveries during the American Wild West and Victorian Britain.

Pictures from last year's event showed smiling youngsters petting the dinosaurs walking around the area and snapping pictures of the show.
