Plans to convert the garage of a Darlington home in to a dog grooming salon are awaiting approval by the council.

The garage space, at 41 Conyers Avenue, could become a dog grooming business that serves up to five pooches a day should plans which were submitted on July 4 get the green light.

Drawings show the layout of the home as well as the space in which the salon business would occupy, which is the garage wall on the left hand side of the home.

Opening hours are set to vary from Tuesday to Saturday, and is designed to be a "new business venture, looking to support the local residents and dog owners of the Mowden estate."

The business plan continues: "The applicant has chosen the above hours to try and offer flexible appointments for clients who work during the day.

"As a result, the applicant has introduced a later start and finish day in the week as well as a mid-day Saturday slot. Please note, upon the business commencing, the applicant may wish to swap some of the days around depending on the volume of clients and their feedback.

"The applicant will not, however, deviate from these set hours or have a late evening on a Saturday."

Further details say that only one dog would be groomed at a time and clients will park on the driveway of the home to avoid obstructing roads and pavements.
