A popular influencer has taken on a Darlington business’ challenge to devour a mountain of food.

YouTuber Beard Meats Food, also known as Adam Moran, took on the ‘Darlo Vs Dough’ pizza challenge at Hideaway Bar and Pizzeria on Duke Street in Darlington.

The 45-minute challenge sees those taking part pay £30 and tackle the task of eating as many pizza slices as they can.

The public figure tucked into the mammoth undertaking, which sees contestants confronted with an 18-inch pizza, as he aimed to beat the previous record of 10 slices set by Ben Potter on March 28.

He conquered the record with 11 minutes and 20 seconds to go, before taking it a step further and demolishing his 12th slice with just over six minutes left.

Speaking before completing the challenge, he said: “The best performing video of all time on this channel was an all-you-can-eat pizza challenge, thought we’d do the same again."

The bonus for beating the challenge is pizza on the house.

After his Herculean effort, Mr Moran finished the day off with a Nutella and ice cream pizza.
