Middlesbrough's newest state-of-the-art play area and inflatable theme park is finally here.

North East-based leisure operator Fun Shack has announced that it will be launching its new £2.5m venue in Captain Cook Square on Tuesday, July 23.

Rope bridges, interactive football courts, and a volcano slide are among some of the exciting features at the complex, which has taken over the former Wilko unit.

Meanwhile, on the bottom floor, kids will be able to enjoy slides, assault courses and wipeout challenges at the giant indoor inflatable theme park Inflatespace, also opening on July 23.

The Fun Shack Group - which also runs the Jump 360 trampoline parks and Clip N Climb centres - has been a staple across the North East since opening its first soft play area in Seaham in 2004.

The Middlesbrough play area marks the firm's second location on Teesside, already having a location on Stockton's Portrack Lane.

Features of Fun Shack Middlesbrough also include a specially designed toddler village, trampolines, a two-storey tubby slide and a cannon Ball arena.

Younger children will also be welcome, with two separate 0-4 play frames and a sensory area.

This marks the latest addition to Captain Cook Square, following go-karting venue Level X and American burger chain Wendy's.

Also soon set to open is Bazaar, a stylish new restaurant from Tarek Thoma, the man behind The Oven Restaurant on Linthorpe Road.
