Mango has confirmed it will be opening a new store at Teesside Park later this year.

Last week, The Northern Echo revealed that the Spanish fashion retailer was poised to take over a section of Unit 21A, the former H&M store.

This came after the chain lodged plans to erect a new sign on the unit, as well as two Mango logos in black vinyl that would be fixed to the new store's glass doors.

Now, Mango has officially confirmed it will be opening a 400 m2 store at the popular shopping complex, featuring the women's line exclusively.

This will feature a Mediterranean-inspired store concept called New Med, which showcases the brand’s spirit and freshness.

"Architectural integration and sustainability" are key in the store's new design, which conceives the Mango store as a Mediterranean home with different rooms.

Warm tones and neutral colours will feature in the shop, alongside traditional, artisanal, sustainable and natural materials including ceramic, tuff, wood, marble, sparto grass, and leather.

As previously reported, Mango will be taking over one of three new units inside the former H&M, which closed its doors back in June 2022.

The unit was initially earmarked for Tessuti, a designer chain owned by Frasers Group, but this never came to fruition after years of uncertainty.

Meanwhile, the two other units are expected to be taken over by fashion chain White Stuff and cosmetic brand Rituals.

Mango - which has been operating in the UK since 1999 - is one of Europe's leading fashion groups and is continuing to grow, with more than 20 openings planned for this year alone.

Catherine Furlong, centre director at Teesside Park, said: “We’re really excited to bring Mango to Teesside Park, and we know just how popular it will be with our style-conscious shoppers looking to update their wardrobe in line with the season.”
