Police are searching for multiple suspects after a man was said to have been threatened at knife point to withdraw money at several cash points.

It is understood the victim was at his home address on Dalton Terrace in Hartlepool today (July 20) when at 3:40am three men threatened him with a knife unless he gave them money.

Police then say the victim, aged 49, went with the trio to cash points where money was subsequently withdrawn.

Detailed descriptions of the men have now been released as police appeal for witnesses and dash cam footage as enquiries continue.

A full police statement reads: "Officers are appealing for information after a man was threatened by three men at his home address.

"The incident happened at a house in Dalton Terrace, Hartlepool, at 3.40am today, Saturday 20 July 2024, when three men threatened to attack the victim with a knife unless he gave them some money.

"The 49-year-old victim went to cash points in the town centre with the men and withdrew money which they took.

"The men are all described as white. One of the men is described as 5ft 10” tall, of medium build, below age of 30’s and was wearing a grey tracksuit and a blue cap.

"A second suspect is described as a white male, 5ft 8”, of medium build, dark hair, in his 30’s and was wearing shorts, t-shirt and a baseball cap, all light blue in colour.

"The third suspect is described as 5ft 8/9”, of skinny build, in his 30’s. He had a black eye and was wearing white shorts, dark blue zip up tracksuit top and black and white Nike trainers, as well as having a bandage on his right leg. 

"Anyone who witnessed the incident, has any CCTV or Dashcam footage, or who thinks they saw the three men in the area around the time of the incident, is asked to contact Cleveland Police. Dial 101, press 1 and speak to the force control room, quoting reference number SE24137015."
