A man has been taken to custody after failing to stop for the police twice in one afternoon.

After refusing to stop when asked he was found on Skerne Park after the efforts of a number of officers.

The driver only had a provisional driving license, they had no insurance and failed a breath test.

They were taken to custody and the vehicle was seized.

A Darlington Police spokesperson said: "The driver of this vehicle failed to stop for officers, not just once, but twice this afternoon.

"He was located a short time later on Skerne Park, following a determined effort between Response units and the East Neighbourhood Team.
