Safety concerns for a woman on a riverbank saw police called to a North East High Street.
Emergency services attended the River Tees in Yarm, near the Blue Bell pub on Yarm Road, at around 5.44am on Friday after being notified of the incident.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing police, fire, and ambulance crews on Yarm Bridge around 6.30am - with the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) confirming it sent one ambulance crew and one clinical team leader to the scene.
Cleveland Police said that the female was brought to safety by officers and handed into the care of paramedics, where she was treated at the scene.

A force spokesperson said: "At 5.44am on Friday 19 July police were called to concerns for the safety of a female located at the bank of the river in Yarm.
"The female was brought to safety by officers and handed to the care of paramedics."
A NEAS spokesperson added: "We were called to an incident near Central Street in Yarm this morning (19 July) at 06.04am. We dispatched one ambulance crew and one clinical team leader to the incident."
