One person has been taken to hospital following a three-vehicle crash in Middlesbrough.
Emergency services were called to the A66 on Thursday following a collision around 4.44pm. The incident took place on the eastbound carriageway, near Cineworld.
AA Traffic News showed slow traffic along the major route at the time - with reports suggesting that several vehicles were involved in the crash.
The North East Ambulance Service has confirmed it sent one ambulance crew to the scene, and took one person to the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
Cleveland Police said: "At 4.45pm on Thursday, July 18, police were called to a three-vehicle collision on the A66 eastbound carriageway.

"One driver was assessed at the scene by paramedics and taken to hospital. There were no other injuries reported."
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson added: "We were called to a road traffic collision today (18 July) at 4.44pm on the A66 in North Ormesby, Middlesbrough.
"We dispatched one ambulance crew and one patient was taken to James Cook University Hospital."
