Bad weather and continuous rain have forced the cancellation of Little Lindi, a popular family-friendly festival in Chester le Street.
The family-focused event, now postponed to July 2025, was supposed to take place July 26-28 at Lambton Park.
A statement from the organisers reads: "Following an emergency site meeting this morning, it has become apparent that significant parts of the site are unusable and unsafe for us to begin the site build in order for Little Lindi Festival to run as planned next week."
The organisers hope that the festival's diverse programme of music, circus and theatre, as well as arts and well-being workshops, can be rescheduled for 2025.

They added: "This is not a decision we ever wanted to make, but with kids being at the forefront of our planning, we cannot compromise on their safety by trying to build the festival infrastructure on a site that is not deemed safe or suitable at this present time."
In addition, they have offered ticket holders the option to redeem their passes for the new dates.
As a token of appreciation, those who retain their tickets will receive a Little Lindi goodie bag.
The organisers said: "We know you will all be as devastated as we are, and we are hopeful that many activities, entertainment and performers will be able to make the rescheduled dates of July 25-27, 2025."
