A historic North East castle hotel, with 32 bedrooms, restaurants, and wedding venues, is still on the market.
Walworth Castle Hotel, located between Burtree Gate and Summerhouse, only five miles from Darlington, is on the look out for a new owner. The castle, and its expansive estate, are up for sale for just under £3m.
The venue, a medieval castle with 12th Century origins, has a rich history, belonging to . During the second World War, the castle became a prisoner of war camp, and was then turned into a boarding school for girls. It has been a hotel since the 1980s, with recent books showing its turnover is over £1m a year.
The medieval castle was put on the market last year, and is still on the hunt for a new owner - now with a reduced price tag. The new hotelier at Walworth Castle can expect to pay £2.95m, nearly half a million pounds down from the initial price.
Amongst the 32 bedrooms included at the hotel, there are Four Poster Rooms, Four Poster Suites and the Bridal Suite with its links to historic royalty.

The largest room in the building is Cardinals Court, formerly the castle courtyard, which now boasts a glass roof, making it popular for wedding parties.
