A Darlington bakery has been left over the moon after they scooped the title of being the best bakery in the county.
The Bakerman in Darlington has been crowned the best bakery in the whole county in the National Bakery Awards 2024.
The bakery, which is located in Clarks Yard, announced the happy news on social media yesterday (July 17) and received an influx of comments saying it was "so well deserved".
Speaking to The Northern Echo, owner Dan Booth, 38, explained it's good to be recognised for the team's hard work.
He said: "We were told a couple of weeks ago that we had won but were told to hold off - and then we announced it minutes after they made it official.
