A rider has been taken to hospital after a car and motorcycle collided last night, prompting the closure of the road.
Police were called to the A173 at Skelton Ellers, in east Cleveland, just before 8pm last night (July 17) following reports of a crash.
The road was closed by police who told motorists to avoid the area and thanked them for their patience.
The force wrote on social media: "Cleveland Police is attending the scene of a road traffic collision in the Guisborough/Skelton area of the A173. Drivers are advised to avoid the area due to the road being closed.
"Thank you for your patience."

Police have since confirmed that the motorcyclist was taken to hospital with an ankle injury.
A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "At 7.50pm on Wednesday 17 July police were called to a collision on the A173 Skelton Ellers between a car and a motorbike.
"The rider was taken to James Cook University Hospital with an injury to his ankle."
