A portion of a Darlington road is set to be closed for four days to complete resurfacing works next week.

Motorists have been warned to avoid Neasham Road between July 24-28 as the works take place - but diversions will be in place, Darlington Borough Council has confirmed.

The closure will be from its junction with Geneva Road to Brankin Road.

This is the second set of roadworks taking place on the stretch in just under a year.

Last year in late July Neasham Road between Smithfield Road and Geneva Road was closed for five days for resurfacing works.

• A1(M), from 8pm July 15 to 6am July 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1M northbound, junction 61 to junction 62, lane closure for inspection works.

• A177, from 8pm July 17 to 6am July 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1M northbound and southbound, junction 61 interchange, lane closures for maintenance works.

• A1(M), from 8pm July 17 to 6am July 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1M northbound, junction 60, entry slip road lane closure for safety barrier repair.

• A1(M), from 8pm July 17 to 6am July 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1M northbound and southbound, junction 62 to 63, Lane closure for Vehicle safety fence repair.
