Police have released a CCTV image of a woman they would like to trace after a man was injured with a glass drink was thrown at him in a city pub.

Officers have been investigating since the incident at the Lady Greys pub on Shakespeare Street, Newcastle at around 12.30am on Thursday, April 18 .

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: "It was reported that a man had a glass drink thrown at him by a woman.

"The victim sustained facial injuries to his eye and jaw and was taken to hospital for treatment. He has since been discharged.

"Enquiries have been ongoing, and as part of this, police have today (Wednesday) released the image of a woman, who they would like to identify.

"The woman is understood to have been in the area at the time of the incident and could have information which may assist the investigation."

The woman, or anyone who knows who they are, should get in touch with Northumbria Police by sending a private message on social media, visiting the live chat on the Force website or by completing a crime update form.
