A County Durham retail park is set to bring local foodbanks and an energy company to the shopping centre on Saturday as it looks to help struggling residents.

The event at Dalton Park, Seaham, is aimed at assisting local people in crisis through donations and free energy-saving advice.

A collection van is set to collect food donations from community members, with an alternative option to provide financial support via the wishing well outside of Mountain Warehouse.

Centre manager at Dalton Park, Richard Kaye, said: "Supporting the local community is incredibly important to us at Dalton Park and we hope that this activation will make a difference for those in attendance."
