The weather is set to improve on Wednesday to be much warmer and sunnier than earlier this week.

Forecasters have predicted that there will be a sunny start to the day and that it will become more overcast by early afternoon.

Temperatures will reach highs of about 23C, the Met Office has said, but it will feel slightly cooler.

The sun will be back out by late afternoon and into the evening.

10am – 18C

11am – 19C

12pm – 20C

1pm – 20C

2pm – 21C

3pm – 21C

4pm – 21C

5pm – 22C

6pm – 21C

7pm – 21C

8pm –  20C

9pm – 18C

10pm – 18C

A Met Office spokesperson said: "A fine start to the day with sunny spells developing, feeling warm in the sunshine with light winds.

"The odd light shower possible over western hills. Maximum temperature 21C.

"Any showers soon dying out. Warm, evening sunny spells with clear spells and light winds.

"Becoming cloudy and chance of patchy light rain towards the end of the night."
