A total of 55 parks in the North East have been awarded the Green Flag Award by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy.
Across Durham, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, Redcar & Cleveland and Middlesbrough, all 55 are set to proudly raise their flags.
The Green Flag Award, an international mark of quality for parks and green spaces, has been in operation for 28 years.
Keep Britain Tidy chief executive, Allison Ogden-Newton OBE, said: "We are delighted that 55 sites in the North East have met the Green Flag Award standards, reflecting the hard work of those tasked with maintaining these important regional assets."

Winners this year include Thorntree Park managed by Middlesbrough Council, King's Campus at Newcastle University, and Benton Quarry Park overseen by North Tyneside Council.
Two parks, Chase Park and Saltwell Park, both supervised by Gateshead Council, have also taken home the Green Heritage Site Accreditation for the management of their historical features.
Green Heritage Site Accreditation requires winners to understand their site's historical significance and take steps to conserve this value.
Additionally, it urges them to help visitors understand and appreciate the space's unique history, whether it’s a nationally known park or a local green space that embodies a community's story.
Four sites managed by volunteer and community groups won a Green Flag Community Award.
These include Brierdene Wildlife Site, Valley Park, Old Bakehouse Millennium Green, and Scotswood Natural Community Garden.
