Four people have been taken to hospital following a crash in Darlington.
Police and paramedics were called to Burtree Lane on Tuesday morning after a multi-vehicle collision involving two cars and a HGV.
The incident - which took place just before 8.15am - sparked slow traffic delays along the route, with eyewitnesses reporting that the road was "inaccessible" at the time.
The North East Ambulance Service confirmed it sent three ambulance crews to the crash and treated and discharged two patients at the scene.
Four people were then taken to hospital - one to the Darlington Memorial Hospital and three to The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
The extent of their injuries are not currently known.
