A man left fighting for his life after his home exploded four weeks ago remains in a critical but stable condition.
The 57-year-old suffered serious burns after a horror blast tore through his semi-detached home on Kirkland Walk, in the Park End area of Middlesbrough on June 18.
He was airlifted to the RVI in Newcastle where it is understood he remains.
His condition is “critical, but stable”, Cleveland Police confirmed, four weeks on.
Police are yet to confirm the cause of the explosion.
The blast ripped the front of the home throwing debris high into the air.
Devastating pictures from the aftermath showed tiles, insulation and rubble strewn across the street.
A huge cordon was erected around the estate as residents were evacuated from their homes, although some heroic members of the public darted towards the house to help rescue the man.
Paramedics previously confirmed he had suffered “severe burns”.
Residents told The Northern Echo how their homes shook as an ear-splitting bang rang out.
Next-door neighbour great-grandmother-of-two Susan Smith, 73, said: "I just heard this big bang and I thought what's that?!
"Then I just saw all of the slates coming down.

"It was a shock. The whole house shook. I didn't have a clue what it was."
Meanwhile, local Nicola Hill, 46, said: "The whole house shook. You heard the bang and every window and door in the house shook. I saw the front of his house all over the floor at the front, and then there was a fire, but it was only starting to ignite where the loft would be at the time.
"I got wet towels and put them over him when he was out on the green. My daughter called 999."
