A McDonald's drive thru will close for over a month to carry out a £750,000 renovation of the service.

The drive-thru at the McDonald’s in Middlesborough Leisure Park will be refurbished to "offer customers a better experience", according to the fast food franchise.

Owned and operated by local Franchisee, Dean Fitzmaurice, the Middlesborough restaurant drive-thru will be closing on August 12 for four and a half weeks while the redevelopment takes place.

The outlet at the leisure park is popular with football fans given its proximity to the Riverside Stadium.

Following the refurbishment customers can look forward to a contemporary fresh-looking restaurant, serving customers quicker when it reopens on September 11.

The restaurant is one of three owned and operated by franchisee, Dean Fitzmaurice who employs over 300 people in Middlesbrough and serves thousands of customers every day.

Dean Fitzmaurice, who owns and operates the McDonald’s restaurant, said: “McDonald’s is always looking into ways to improve the customer experience and by investing in these changes in my restaurant, we’ll be doing just that.

"I’m proud to say that the investment will create a smoother experience for customers and the local people of Middlesborough. I can’t wait to welcome my customers back to experience the changes first-hand!”.
