Police have confirmed an investigation has been launched following an incident outside a pizza shop on a North East road last night.

Cleveland Police have confirmed they are working with Stockton Borough Council and North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust to understand the “complex circumstances” surrounding the ongoing investigation.

They added the investigation involves two members of the community in Yarm Lane, Stockton.

Police have reassured members of the public that there is “no threat or risk” to the community.

A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: “Cleveland Police is working with Stockton Borough Council and North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust to understand the complex circumstances around the ongoing investigation involving two members of the community in the Yarm Lane area of Stockton.

“We understand the recent activity may have caused concern among some members of the public and we would like to provide reassurance that we are confident there is no threat or risk to the safety of the community.”
