A pooch who would be the perfect companion for any tennis lover is currently looking for his forever home.
Four-year-old Lurcher Riley is hoping to find a new owner who shares his love for tennis balls and can help him come out of his shell.
Staff at Dogs Trust Darlington have said Riley is a “super playful” canine who loves a game of fetch.
They have warned any new owner will have to be careful and manage Riley’s time playing fetch, as he previously sustained an injury while chasing a ball.
The centre has said this pup is easily won over by his two favourite foods, cheese and peanut butter.
A Dogs Trust spokesperson said: “An ace rescue dog who is a smash hit with all staff at Dogs Trust Darlington is hoping that by showing off his enviable ball skills, he will soon find his forever home.
“Four-year-old Lurcher Riley always has his eye on the ball, especially if it’s a tennis ball or of the squeaky variety.
“His impressive moves have not gone unnoticed by his Dogs Trust carers, who say he keenly chases every ball and has the energy of any elite athlete when it comes to playing.

“Riley is a super sweet boy who lacks confidence in life and can find new situations overwhelming, however, once he knows you, he is a loving, playful and loyal boy.
“The team at Dogs Trust Darlington hope it will soon be Game, Set and Match for this beautiful lad as he bounds off to his forever home.”
