A County Durham bar has garnered a mixed reaction after it announced its newest cocktail based on a viral TikTok meme.
The Stables Bar in Beamish officially unveiled their current special cocktail, the 'Hawk Tuah' - based on a viral meme of the same name.
The drink is a tropical concoction of pineapple and banana, topped with a real banana and whipped cream.
The bar created the drink based on the crude meme starring Haliey Welch, 21, which went viral on TikTok for her off-the-cuff remark.
The video now has millions of views and hundreds of thousands of likes online - and so far the bar has seen "huge success" with the new drink dreamed up by food and drink manager David Clark.
The bar said: "David is always coming up with new ideas for seasonal cocktails, and with the Hawk Tuah meme a huge trend right now, his cocktail expertise came in handy.
"The cocktail started as a funny joke between the team, with a few probably thinking David’s idea was slightly mad, but after testing different flavours and perfecting its memorably eye-catching appearance, the Hawk Tuah was created!
"We are delighted the cocktail was able to evoke a smile, and even a chuckle, from so many people since we released it."
Haliey, a rural Tennessee resident has since shot to fame following the meme and is reportedly in talks to start her own reality TV show and sign with talent agencies after the social media acclaim.
Most recently, Ms Welch was spotted in Nashville with acclaimed former basketball player Shaquille O'Neal.

Taking to their social media page to announce the drink, the bar, which has a total of 17,000 followers, has faced mixed comments.
Hundreds have loved the idea, commenting that they need to venture to the bar and try the drink.
However, another disgruntled customer wondered why the bar is "jumping on the bandwagon" as he urged them to stick to "original" cocktails.
