A County Durham woman made off without paying a taxi fare on New Year's Day, a court heard.
Janine Crawford, 32, from Cumbrian Avenue in Chester-Le-Street, was accused of leaving a taxi without settling a £40 fare on New Year's Day, this year.
Crawford had knowingly used the taxi service but dishonestly left without making payment.
She appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court on July 5, where she pleaded guilty to the charge.

Crawford received a six-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay £40 in compensation.
This meant that, for that period, she would not face further punishment for this offence as long as she did not further offend.
No court costs were ordered against Crawford.
