Kevin Keegan’s former spacious country residence, owned during his tenure as manager of Newcastle United football club, has been listed for sale for £2.25 million.
The former home of the football legend is positioned within the Wynyard Park gated community in Billingham, Teesside and is surrounded by 5.4 acres of gardens.
According to the listing from Jackson Stops estate agents, the Georgian dwelling comes with a games room, pool and bar and benefits from 24-hour security.
Purchased by former Newcastle owner Sir John Hall in the 80s, Keegan took up residence in the property in 1992 when Hall appointed him as manager.
Being promoted to the Premier League in Keegan’s first season as manager, and then earning second place in the Premiership in 1995-96, are testaments to the sporting stalwart’s career.
The Georgian house was extended during Keegan's tenure and has been further expanded since, becoming a five-bedroom home spanning almost 10,000 sq ft.
The listing of the property boasts a reception hall, kitchen/breakfast room, lounge, dining room, study, orangery, wine cellar, and indoor swimming pool on the ground floor.
