When people move home, they usually leave the bricks and mortar behind and move their furniture - but for one Darlington company, moving the entire property is all in a day's work.

Maguire's Country Parks, based in the town, embarked on a mammoth challenge last week when they moved a bungalow and all the free-standing furniture along the A1(M).

While staff at the company are versed in doing this - this wasn't just for a stunt, Maguire's moved the bungalow to showcase its product at the Great Yorkshire Show in Harrogate.

For those driving down the A1(M) on July 1, when the property was moved, it would have been a memorable moment.

Now that the Darlington-based business has moved the bungalow, it will be displayed pride of place at Harrogate Showground, where the Great Yorkshire Show takes place from July 9 to July 12.

The bungalow, which is complete with two bedrooms, dressing room, en-suite and full-size family bathroom, plus living room/kitchen/dining space - and all fully equipped with all appliances including dishwasher and washing machine, wasn't an easy task to move - but the Maguire's did it with an extra-long truck.

In images sent to The Northern Echo, two trucks are seen carrying properties on the back from the Maguire's base in Darlington.

According to the company: "Instead of potential buyers travelling to visit this house, Maguires Country Parks is bringing the ABI Beaumont Lodge to visit them at the Great Yorkshire Show."
