Labour's Emma-Lewell Buck was last night reelected as MP for South Shields.
Mrs Buck, who has been MP since 2013, is starting a fifth spell in Parliament having secured 15,122 votes.
Reform UK came second in the South Shields constituency, with 8,469 votes (23%) while it was the Green Party who edged into second with 14.75% of the vote (5433).
