With the suggestion that the sunny weather is (hopefully) here to stay - we have pieced together five beer gardens in County Durham to visit.
As soon as the sun comes out, people normally flock to their local pub to enjoy a drink outside - and with these five pubs, you won't be disappointed.
Five of the best beer gardens across County Durham:
Half Moon Inn
86 New Elvet, Durham, DH1 3AQ
The Half Moon Inn is a traditional pub in the heart of Durham City.
If you're looking for historic - look no further because it's a Grade I listed building with many original features. The fireplace and back bar were put in in 1905.
However, alongside its heritage, it has a great outside area that people can enjoy the sun in while having a drink from the bar area.
And it seems like people on TripAdvisor can't get enough of this pub's beer garden.
One person said: "We visited on a lovely sunny day after hearing great things about the beer garden, and it doesn't disappoint. It has screens, seating enough for plenty of people, and it's kept well clean and tidy. We will be coming back, and even if it's cold there are heaters and the inside is just as amazing."
The Woodman Inn
23 Gilesgate, Durham, DH1 1QW
Another pub bang in the centre of Durham City - The Woodman Inn is a great spot for enjoying a drink outside.
This traditional-style pub serves a selection of lagers and three real ales and has a great selection of spirits including gins and malt whiskies.
With a pool table, dart board and various other games to choose from, it also has a Gold award from the national 'Best Bar None' scheme.
Boasting 'the best pub garden in Durham City', according to its owners, people on TripAdvisor agree on this one.
One person who has visited wrote on TripAdvisor: "The beer garden really is the stand-out attraction of this pub - grassy, fairly large, and a lovely place to sit in the sun. It lives up to their claim of 'best in Durham'."
The Emerson Arms
32 Church Row, Darlington, Hurworth-on-Tees, DL2 2AQ
Located right on the River Tees, The Emerson Arms has a beer garden that backs on to the river.
On TripAdvisor, this place has many photos of people enjoying a drink in the sun while looking out on the river.
Possibly one of the most picturesque pubs in outer Darlington - this place is a must-visit, according to those on TripAdvisor.
One visit or said: "Best beer garden in the area. Great selection of drinks and the beer garden has a fantastic view over the river tees. Friendly place and the barmaid was great."
The Old Well Inn
21 The Bank, Barnard Castle, DL12 8PH
Offering a hotel, pub and restaurant - this place does a lot - but it's also known for its beer garden.
Serving food and drink, many people on TripAdvisor have highlighted that you can enjoy both of these outside.
What's better than having some food and drink in the sun?
An impressed visitor said on TripAdvisor: "We old came here for a drink as we had recently eaten, but the food looked very tempting so we will return. We got a bench in the beautiful garden out the back and we got served by table service. The garden was like a hidden paradise full of flowers and people enjoying themselves."
The Copper Mine
26 High Jobs Hill, Crook, DL15 0UL
According to its owners: "The Copper Mine is a pub which has a quirky interior and aims to offer food from simple dishes to dishes which any restaurant would be proud to offer."
But on top of that - it has a beer garden that people can enjoy a drink in.
Located in Crook, people in the garden can enjoy the sun this summer (hopefully) - while enjoying an alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink.
A customer who ranked this place as 'excellent' said on TripAdvisor: "We’ve been here a few times, had great two-course meals, and a couple of Sunday lunches, tried an amazing cocktail or two, but today, because the sun was shining, we ate tapas style in the beer garden. The service is always excellent in this place, friendly and efficient, today's visit was no exception."
