A popular pub has shut up shop unexpectedly, with a new leaseholder already waiting to take up the reigns soon.
The Old Black Swan pub in Bedale closed in June, just months after a refurbishment.
Landlord Dave Johnson said that "regrettably, we have taken the decision to leave the Old Black Swan and concentrate on our other projects".
Two members of staff had raised concerns to The Northern Echo about when outstanding paycheques would be paid, claiming delayed payments totalled in the thousands, but these balances were paid after the newspaper contacted the management for comment.
When approached by the Northern Echo, Mr Johnson said that some members of staff had "caused a lot of problems" for the pub, but reiterated that he is "looking to resolve the issues with wages" now a new lease has been taken up and deposits have been repaid.

Speaking to The Northern Echo, he said: "It was only a tiny amount of wages unpaid, and employees are well aware that they will be paid this week.
"We've been waiting to hand the lease over, and get deposits back, in order to be able to pay their wages."
A new management company, UK Hospitality Management, has added the rustic pub to their portfolio, and is currently looking for an enthusiastic management team, front of house, and kitchen staff to take over the live in pub.
