An arrest warrant has been issued for a Darlington woman who failed to turn up at court to be sentenced following a dog attack.
Katie Carruthers was due at Teesside Crown Court this morning (Tuesday, July 2) after she was convicted of wounding with intent and being the owner in charge of a dog dangerously out of control.
The 41-year-old’s dog injured a woman when it was running free in the Westmorland Street and North Road area of Darlington in July 2022.

Carruthers, of North Road, Darlington, was also convicted of wounding with intent on the same woman as a result of the incident.
Recorder Thomas Moran issued an arrest warrant after she failed to attend her sentencing hearing.
