A man accused of murder has appeared at Teesside Crown Court following an alleged stabbing.
Adam Mackintosh appeared via videolink from HMP Doncaster after the death of Lloyd Donkin last month.
The 27-year-old did not enter a plea to the charge during the short hearing in front of Mr Justice Hilliard.
Mackintosh was charged following an alleged incident on Wrensfield Road, in Stockton, on Wednesday, June 26.
Emergency services attended the scene at around 6.40pm and Mr Donkin was taken to hospital before he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Mackintosh, 27, of Coral Grove, Thornaby, near Stockton, was remanded in custody and will next appear before the court on Monday, September 2.
Paying tribute to his life, the 23-year-old’s family said: “Lloyd’s life was stolen, our lives are shattered.
“The family can only keep the beauty of him, his heart of gold, cheeky humour, and love, within our hearts now.

“He will never be forgotten, and our family will never be the same without him.”
As previously reported, a cordon was erected across Stainmore Close following the alleged incident, with pictures showing several police officers guarding the blue and white tape.
Crime scene investigators were later captured probing the street, placing evidence markers on the ground and taking photographs.
A separate cordon was also set up on Coral Grove - and later confirmed to be linked by police.
