Banks across the region are continuing to close at a rapid rate with more branches set to pull down the shutters in the coming months.
More than 30 branches across the North East and North Yorkshire have shut down in the last 18 months leaving many customers without a local store.
Another 14 have been earmarked for closure by various bank brands with the final withdrawals to be made in the coming months.
Some areas have seen several branches close within months including Whitley Bay in North Tyneside where four sites have shut.
This week Lloyds announced further closures including plans to close down sites in Stanley and Spennymoor.
Banks including Lloyds, HSBC and Halifax are continuing to push forward with the move to online banking. The number of people using in-person services has been falling for years as more people switch to digital.
