It's set to be a cool and drizzly start to July as The Met Office predicts "unsettled" weather for the North East this week.
The forecaster says the region should see a dry start to the month with outbreaks of light rain spreading to all throughout Monday morning (July 1).
Temperatures are expected to peak at 16°C and dip to 7°C - a far cry from the glorious sunny spells seen earlier last week.
It will be drier and brighter through the afternoon, although breezy with low cloud and drizzle persisting over the Pennines.
This evening, it is expected to be dry but breezy, with clear spells giving a "cold feel."
Looking further ahead to the rest of the week, Tuesday will see a similar day with cloudy and breezy weather alongside the odd shower.
Wednesday through Friday is set to be cloudy with some outbreaks of rain, as well as sunny spells and blustery showers.
